Another 2 days have blown by! Amazing how time flies. This will only be a short update as I am taking some time to spend an evening with my wife. With our busy lives, it had been difficult to allocate time to spend together.
We had a really nice dinner and watched The Hurricane which was playing on TV. For those of you who have not seen this movie, I recommend you see it. It is about Ruben Carter's fight for freedom after being convicted for a crime he did not commit. An amazing story of persistence, faith, courage, love, teamwork, sadness and triumph. It tells the story of some amazing human beings. I am actually going to research some of the people who were featured in the movie. They all have very inspirational stories! It was a great movie and a great way to wrap up the work week.
As for my fitness challenge, I continue to stay the course. On Day 46 I got out for my Thursday night men's league basketball. I didn't play as long as usual but I was exhausted nevertheless. I usually have much more energy but I am sure it is a symptom of exercising so many days in a row without a break!
On Day 47, I actually stayed home and did a shoulder workout in my basement. It was a quick 25 minute workout but I actually got quite a sweat going. I don't really take breaks when I do my quick workouts...so by the end I was feeling quite tired. Not exhausted, but that satisfying feeling that I gave myself a good workout.
Actually, I just remembered as I was typing that last paragraph that I also raked leaves earlier in the evening before my workout. I probably put in a good 30 minutes of raking which can also count towards a workout. So all in all, it was a good day for fitness.
Tomorrow I am going to go back to the gym and shoot some hoops for my daily fitness. Because my game got cut short on Thursday night, I am looking forward to spending some extra time on the court and working on my jump shot. It is actually kind of a meditative process for me. Yes its a workout but it is also relaxing from a mental perspective. I really enjoy it!
